About Me

 I'm Tracey, a mum of one who has loved to read for as long as I can remember. At a young age, I used to read my teddies bedtime stories so when our little boy came along, it was as natural to read to him as it was to breathe. And so from day one, Chris had a bedtime story. 

As we shared bedtime stories, and as he began to learn to read and started reading books to me that I'd read to him as a baby, I discovered I loved books and reading even more than I ever thought possible. I genuinely and strongly believe that the most crucial gift we can give our children is the ability and enjoyment that reading for pleasure brings. There are plenty of studies you can find that show the links between reading for pleasure and academic success but for me, there's something more important.  Reading for pleasure provides a sense of belonging - whether that's a family bond shared over a bedtime story, or friendships formed through discussing shared favourite books, or that sense of homecoming when you return to well-loved classic.  There's a comforting feeling when reading a book that you can't find anywhere else.
